Jette Ellgaard
I was born I 1972. I grew up in the countryside in Denmark with my father (farmer), my mother (journalist) and my two brothers. After I finished the upper secondary school I did a lot of traveling before I entered the art Academy. Two years ago I finish my education as a Master of fine Art. I live and work in Copenhagen. My art practice consist of text production, video, sound, photography, graphic prints and installations. My interests and investigations always centre around everyday life, human relations, family structures and generations related stuff, which hopefully perspective universal subjects, as identity, the human existence, the cultural and social background and the relation between the individual and the surrounding society. I prefer calling it – story telling. Using a fine-meshed investigation of the leading relation between generations – often using my own family orthodoxies, hopefully with an outcome with a lot of warmth, love and humor. I like borrowing socks.
